The Hypocrites’ fast-paced, 80-minute version of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance will be the final production of American Repertory Theater’s 2012-2013 season. Sean Graney will direct the production at the Loeb Drama Center, to run May 10-June 2, 2013.

Featuring new arrangements by Kevin O’Donnell, this production was a runaway hit of the 2012 Emerging America Festival. According to press notes, it features “bathing beauties, philosophizing pirates, and remarkably short shorts.” There’s also an audience sing-a-long.
