Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center has announced the schedule of events for its fall 2012 season.

Highlights will include Broadway veterans Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin in a benefit performance (October 14 at 7pm) honoring John Hoyt Stookey and inaugurating the John Hoyt Stookey Fund for Programmatic Excellence, to support the Mahaiwe’s efforts to bring incredible talents to the Berkshires on a year-round basis.

Then, Premier Concerts will present singer, guitarist, and songwriter Keb’ Mo’ and his band (October 18 at 7:30 pm) in concert. Reggae performers Toots and the Maytals, led by Frederick “Toots” Hibbert, will perform an acoustic concert (November 4 at 7 pm). As the center moves into the holiday season, they will welcome The Temptations original member Otis Williams as he leads the group in a performance of their many hits (December 2 at 7 pm).

Due to the high demand of the Mahaiwe’s screenings of The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live transmissions, the center has added an encore screening for each of the broadcasts they have scheduled for the upcoming season. In addition, before each live broadcast, opera expert Scott Eyerly gives an introductory talk to enhance the experience.

The Mahaiwe will also be presenting three London’s National Theatre: Live in HD broadcasts, including The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Last of the Haussmans, and Timon of Athens.
