Clare Barron is a playwright and performer from Wenatchee, Washington. Her plays include You Got Older (Cherry Lane; Page 73; Steppenwolf), Dance Nation (Playwrights Horizons; Steppenwolf; Almeida), Shhhh (Atlantic), I’ll Never Love Again (The Bushwick Starr), and Baby Screams Miracle (Clubbed Thumb; Woolly Mammoth). She was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the winner of two Obie Awards, the Relentless Award, the Whiting Award, the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and the James Tait Black Prize. She was a writer/producer on the Emmy-nominated series “Say Nothing” about the lives of two teenage sisters who join the IRA. Her episode about the sisters’ hunger strike was singled out as one of the ten best TV episodes of 2024 by the Hollywood Reporter and nominated for the Humanitas Prize.
