About This Show

Stomp has been drumming up converts to its celebratory “beautiful noise” for more than two decades now, and yet with each return to Los Angeles, new audiences are drawn to “see what all the noise is about.” After so much hype over so many years, one might fear that audiences would be less surprised, less enchanted by the eight-member troupe that uses everything but conventional percussion instruments — matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps — to fill the stage with staggeringly complex rhythms.
