Mutt

Mutt is the story of Black, an 18-year-old woman who is informed by her guidance counselor that she is black. Raised by her white mother, Black had no idea. Undaunted, she takes her full ride basketball scholarship to a predominantly black Southern college with only one goal in mind: to BE BLACK. When she finds this to be harder than she’d thought, she’s visited by a celebrity Af-Am mentor only she can see (played by a puppet). But not even her fairy Blackmother can help when a white dancer doing a biography of Stevie Wonder turns Black’s head. When Black’s guru takes a turn for the racist, Black must establish her own rules of Black and White.
