About This Show

A powerfully poignant and often hilarious play, The Waverly Gallery is a tribute to the final years of Gladys–a generous, chatty, and feisty grandmother’s battle against Alzheimer’s disease. The play explores Gladys’ fight to retain her independence and the subsequent effect of her decline on her family. More than a memory play, The Waverly Gallery captures the humor and strength of a family in the face of crisis.

Alzheimer’s disease afflicts over 24 million people worldwide, remaining a mystery to the diagnosed, their families, and the entire medical community. Didactic Theatre Company, in accordance with its mission to foster engaging performances and dialogue, will be hosting various panel discussions, talk-back sessions, and speakers following specified performances. Information on the disease, treatments, and support groups will be available as well. Visit www.didactictheatre.com for more details on each scheduled event.
