queerSpawn by Mallery Avidon is a playfully significant look at a different kind of bullying. A heterosexual cisgendered teenage boy with lesbian mothers “who love him more than sunshine” struggles with surviving high school in a small town. Facing four more years of outrageous bullying, he attempts to cope with this harsh reality by creating imaginary friends of tabloid headliners rather than telling his parents.
