An Inspector Calls

J.B. Priestly’s classic thriller An Inspector Calls is set in pre-WW I Britain. The Birling family’s comfortable and complacent world is shattered forever when a police inspector interrupts their dinner party to investigate the supposed suicide of a young girl. As his questions reveal that each of them was connected to her and may be responsible for her death, they are forced to examine their moral consciences and way of life.
