About This Show

Ford’s Theatre opens its annual production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas and unveils a new, fantastical/magical adaptation of this classic that turns a brighter spotlight on the “ghosts” of Christmas and adds humor and excitement to this beloved holiday story. This year, Michael Wilson’s adaptation, a multi-racial cast and new sets and costumes energize this well-known treasure and emphasize the contemporary relevance of its familiar themes of redemption and second chances. With its new adaptation, Ford’s tells the same well-known story with a twist that is a bit “The Wizard of Oz meets Dickens”: the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future all take on attributes of characters that Ebenezer Scrooge encounters every day on the streets of London.
