A light-skinned African-American woman explores the multifaceted nature of her racial identity. Through storytelling, song, and movement rooted in both European and African performance traditions, this griot-opera-diva celebrates her experiences as a racially ambiguous woman of color, effectively moving beyond the “tragic mulatto”.
