A new musical revue, Give My Regards to Broadway, makes its premiere at the Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio. The new song and dance musical is directed by Tony Braithwaite and choreographed by Peter Rios.
The musical revue tells the history of tap dance, from its evolution on the streets of America to its success in film and eventually on the Broadway stage. The production features a musical score of over 20 songs written by American composers from the early 1900’s through the middle of the century including George M. Cohan, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and others.
Led by a talented six-person cast, the collection of music is some of the well-known popular classics of all time including: ‘You’re A Grand Old Flag," "Alexander’s Ragtime Band," "You Made Me Love You- I Didn’t Want To Do It," "Second Hand Rose," "Embraceable You," "Anything Goes," and the title song, "Give My Regards To Broadway."
