About This Show

A Nite at The Savoy takes you back to an electric era when the Lindy Hop ruled dance floors and jazz was in its heyday, with names like Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. In the 1920s and 30s, ballrooms dominated Harlem, but the Savoy was to become the “king of swing.” One of the first integrated public spaces, the block-long ballroom had two bandstands and a long, Maplewood dance floor. Shimmy down to the Bride and learn the lively Lindy Hop, enjoy sumptuous, soulful cuisine and bid on over 100 auction items.
