Mr. Hoover’s Tea Party

Off World Theatre presents Mr. Hoover’s Tea Party, written by Stanton Wood and directed by Tamilla Woodard. The play explores the relationship between Martin Luther King, Jr. and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover during the civil rights struggles of the late 1960’s. It depicts what happened – and might have happened – when the two men put their clashing ideologies aside in an attempt to resolve their heated public conflict.
