About This Show

The Blue Hill Troupe, a critically-acclaimed New York City-based not-for-profit organization will present a production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s THE GONDOLIERS. Tongue twisters and hilarious contradictions riddle this light-hearted G&S production. Set in Venice, the Grand inquisitor weaves the plot endeavors beyond all possible doubt to distinguish between the gallant gondolieri, one of whom may be the long-lost king of Barataria. Meanwhile, Republican-minded Gondoliers face off with traditional hierarchists; the Duke of Plaza-Toro does an initial public offering and the kings dance a cachucha, fandango, and bolero with the castle servants! All proceeds will benefit The Stanley Isaacs Neighborhood Center, Inc., a New York charity that assists neighbors in need by working to improve their physical, educational, cultural and social well-being
