Suzanna Ross: A Little Love, a Little Amour

About This Show

Suzanna Ross will be singing at the Metropolitan Room in a repeat performance. Drawing from the American, French, and British songbooks, Suzanna weaves a vibrant spell that combines old-style romance with a jazzy contemporary flair. Songs include American tunes, French classics, ’60s and ’70s pop, and movie favorites. The songs are from the lists of Diana Krall, Sting, Edith Piaf, British pop legend Dusty Springfield, Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand, French pop legend Francoise Hardy, and more.

With a smooth style that creates an intimate evening, Suzanna is known for a warm, sometimes smoky sound that lends itself to lush melodies and lyrics sung in both English and French. She will be accompanied by her quartet of musicians from the New York City and European scenes. A few songs on the list take a poetic turn with accompaniment by flute and clarinet, which at times suggest the feel of a chanteuse singing stories of love in a Paris café of yesteryear.
