New York City
Woodward Avenue Productions, in association with Theater by the Blind, presents the world premiere of Pamela Sabaugh’s Woman in the Animal Kingdom (La Femme dans le Monde d’Animal). A visually impaired sculptor, having reached her 30th birthday, is confronted with her awakening sexual appetite. Driven by doubt and inner conflict, she roams the city of New York in search of solid ground–“terra firma”–only to find that the landscape she has sought lies within herself. The play is based on Sabaugh’s own life experience as a “visually impaired” New York artist. The production is presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
