About This Show

After two tours in Iraq, a busted marriage and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, Tammy has agreed to appear in a documentary about her life. Tammy’s day has arrived… big time.

Tammy is The Warrior, a veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf War as well as the 2003-20?? war in Iraq. After two tours of duty in the latest conflict, she returns from duty with an honorable discharge and a diagnosis of PTSD. Tammy insists that she could deal with the combat but couldn’t handle the fact that her husband left her while she was defending the country. Because of her psychological condition, her estranged spouse has gained custody of their twelve-year-old daughter. So Tammy has agreed to appear on camera for a former high school classmate who has become a recognized documentary filmmaker. She runs the emotional gamut as she tries to make sense of the war she’s left behind and the one she’s determined to fight at home. In the end, she has no alternative but to take things into her own hands.

The Warrior is presented as part of the Impact Festival.
