About This Show

The Next Big Broadway Musical is a fully improvised two-act musical comedy. The first act is a mock awards ceremony in which the cast improvises five “Best Musical” nominees based on audience-suggested song titles. At the end of the act, the audience is asked to vote on the nominee it liked best, and in the second act, the entire musical, featuring the favorite song from act one, is presented. Emceed by Ron Poole (MAC award winner, Poole Party).

“At last! A musical of, for, and by the people… that’s entertainment!” (Time Out NY)

This fresh, irreverent tribute to musical theatre is a popular fixture on the cabaret and theatre scene, playing to sell-out crowds who return to help create a new musical each week. Twice nominated for a MAC award, it features an impressive line-up of performers familiar from their work on the New York stand-up scene, NPR and off-Broadway’s Lifegame. Critics have hailed the show as “fresh, funny and wildly entertaining!” (Show Business Weekly) with “a spontaneity, wit and inventiveness that must be seen to be believed” (New York Post).
