About the Show

Before November 7, 2000, most of us had no idea what a hanging chad was, or expected to see a close Presidential election decided by the Supreme Court. Much of the voting public believes that their votes are being counted, only to have that faith called into question again and again. In the last six years, each election has brought more attention to how we vote and how safe it is — or isn’t. Technological advances paired with public pressure have led to a number of Congressional hearings and attempts to set and enforce standards that ensure each citizen’s votes will be accurately recorded and acknowledged.

The weekend before Election Day 2006, breedingground productions presents the latest episode in its series of dramatizations of Congressional transcripts, Testify Episode 4: Voting System Security. This episode has been edited and directed by Tomi Tsunoda, with texts taken from hearings held in June and July of 2004 on the security and testing of voting systems, this episode weaves together concrete information with compelling perspectives from experts in computer technology and state election boards.
