In Germany, 1976, Bruno Stroszek is released from an institutional life. Greeted by the harsh Berlin landscape, he embarks on a journey with Mr. Sheitz (his recluse neighbor) and Eva (his old flame and sometime prostitute) in search of the American dream in West Texas–a journey which culminates with a confrontation with the infamous “Dancing Chicken.” The Theaterless Theatre Corps presents Stroszek (The Ballad Of Bruno), adapted from Werner Herzog’s 1976 cult classic film with the author’s blessing. Josh Frank (who did the adaptation along with Didier Gertsch) directs. Part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
