About This Show

Target Margin Theater, the Obie Award-winning company renowned for its innovative adaptations of a wide-range of classics, presents Yuri Skujins’ Sonoma — a darkly comedic adaptation of director George Steven’s class-driven cinematic weeper A Place in the Sun and a gender-reversed take on novelist Theodore Dreiser’s tale of envy and desire, An American Tragedy.

Written and directed by Yuri Skujins, Sonoma is the story of a young African-American woman whose attempts at entering the shimmering world of post-modern privilege in upscale Sonoma, California go horribly awry.

Performed in conjunction with Target Margin’s current mainstage production of Charles Pèguy’s The Mystery of the Charity of Joan of Arc, Sonoma is presented for a limited run as one of its celebrated Laboratory of workshops, readings and events.
