Red Fly/Blue Bottle is a groundbreaking multimedia music-theater work that delivers incredible video artistry against a complex and rich soundscape of original compositions, found sounds, and live performance/accompaniment on various instruments.
A wholly collaborative effort from an innovative team of artists, Red Fly/Blue Bottle features music by Christina Campanella, words by Stephanie Fleischmann, video from Peter Norrman, live video by Mirit Tal, lights by Miranda Hardy, set by Jim Findlay, live sound by Jeremy Wilson and costumes by Olivera Gajic. This production is directed by Mallory Catlett.
The story unfolds as a young woman discovers her companion’s deployment to a secret war, and the steps she takes to make sense of his absence. This production is staged as a concert, with plot interwoven through tightly crafted songs – an aural world of “found sounds,” and a visual landscape comprised of live and pre-made videos projected on floating and stationary objects.
