Peony Pavillion, The

HERE arts center presents a new puppet production of this Chinese masterpiece. One of the enduring classics of 15th century Chinese Kun Opera theatre will be given a unique hour-long production featuring puppets, live actors and traditional Chinese music and dance. The story follows a young woman from an upper-class family who challenges the prevailing customs for arranged marriages when she embarks on a quest to find a young scholar who has appeared to her in a dream, and with whom she has fallen irretrievably in love.
