About This Show

Legendary percussionist Paul Lytton is known for subverting expectations when it comes to jazz and improvisation. Nate Wooley has been gaining critical acclaim for his own innovations on the trumpet. Regardless of how far their stylistic abstractions take them, their love and respect for tradition gives their music an incredible grounding. In this, their first joint US appearance, they perform from their new release on Broken Research Recordings. The evening concludes with the premiere of Wooley’s, The Seven Storey Mountain, a work for trumpet, percussion, tape, and harmonium.
