Narrator is a mythical replacement for the lost ritual of a child’s transformation into adulthood. Using live video, Capoeira, sexuality and new writing by Stephen Marion, Narrator is a division between the implosion of the contrived, scripted texts and media, and the expansion of ecstasy, acts made in the moment. Narrator examines the image as the new God, re-presentation as contemporary vision, and petitions for the invisible substance, at the core of theatre, in an era of distance.
