About This Show

Take Wing And Soar Productions presents its 3rd Annual Classical Lab Reading Series featuring guest director Petronia Paley. 15 Classically Trained Actors of Color audition and participate in 3-5 days of open rehearsals culminating with a dramatic staged reading free and open to the public, followed by a discussion and/or Q&A with the artists.

This season’s selection, the classic tale Medea, stars Tony Award-winning actress Trezana Beverley as the sorceress princess Medea, who will stop at nothing to repay Jason for the ultimate betrayal of his family and the woman he promised to love forever. In this masterly written drama of passion, suffering and sensitivity of injured love are strongly drawn, until they culminate in the awful deed of vengeance. Medea is criminal, but not without cause, and not without strength and dignity.
