About This Show

ADDED PERFORMANCES! Friday, February 9 @ 7:30 PM and Saturday, February 10 @ 7:30 PM

Linnea, the third play of John Regis, is a heartbreaking but humorous exploration of artistic endeavor and obsessive love. Danny, a reclusive Brooklyn playwright, awakens one morning from an odd dream where a mysterious woman beckons him into a strange new world. Is the dream an ecstatic vison, or a warning of things to come? Or could it be merely the result of too many beers the night before?

Setting off on a journey from his home in Brooklyn to the island of Manhattan, he encounters a world very different from any he’s ever known. Over the course of one long, unpredictable evening he meets a cast of shadowy characters and finds himself entangled in a love triangle with a sultry stripper named Linnea, whom he believes is the woman of his dreams. Danny’s obsessions grow stronger as he attempts to finish his play and help Linnea, but as the lines between reality and art are blurred, his dreams quickly turn to nightmares.
