About This Show

“a crabby alternative to Christmas cheer… an oasis of bile in a season of sappy sentiment” — Time Out

“A hilarious not-to-be-missed holiday tradition…warm seasonal classics glazed with enough arsenic to poison every sacred belief and tradition…” — HX Magazine

Jackie Beat, everyone’s favorite Grinch, returns to NYC for her 9th annual holiday show. She presents an updated version of her wildly popular 1999 show Jackie Beat: How the Bitch Stole Christmas.

It all started so innocently in 1998 with Jesus Christ, It’s Your Birthday!, a delightful non-denominational holiday tribute featuring such seasonal fare as “Sleigh Ride in Leather With You,” and “Black Christmas.” When the show was prominently featured in The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Right’s 1998 Report on Anti-Catholicism, an annual holiday tradition was born.

Now the bile-filled Ms. Beat returns to New York to share her latest thoughts on “the most wonderful time of the year.” Whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa or Ramadan, Jackie Beat: How the Bitch Stole Christmas is the perfect way to celebrate. The show features the ghosts of Jackie’s Holiday Past, including “Go To Hell,” Beat’s jaded reworking of “Silver Bells;” a mingling of Hebrew tradition with Elvis Presley in “Jew Christmas;” the Britney Spears-influenced “Oops!… It’s Christmas Again,” and a few new songs destined to become holiday classics. The evening wouldn’t complete without a “fireside” performance of the titular short story How the Bitch Stole Christmas, Jackie’s own delightfully twisted take on the Dr. Seuss classic (casting herself as the meanie with a fiendish plan to steal Christmas from the holiday-loving gays of Chelsea).
