New York City
For those of you tired of Broadway revivals meet Jack and Jill, an off-off Broadway comedy by writer/director/star newcomer, Hollie Harper. This fast-paced, romantic comedy with over the top characters, saucy dance numbers and dramatic plot twists, is a unique story of three uptown girls and the men that complicate their lives.
Ms. Harper, adolescently inspired by the works of Carrie Fisher and Woody Allen, creates a Postcards from the Edge meets Annie Hall story of three women, three loves and one crazy summer. At the center sits Jill Jones, a post rehab Jackie Collins-esque writer struggling to come to grips with her “no-longer-useful user” mentality. Then, there is her sister Jackie, the picture perfect yet childless wife of a philandering politician coping with her desire for respect, love and the hope of children. Lastly, there is Jill’s film star best friend, Pepper, eternally bitter playing second fiddle to that other famous Latina while she pines for the one that got away. They all stumble upon the same question: Do you decide for your heart, or does your heart decide for you?
