Harlem Duet
$15.00
Harlem Duet reimagines the tale of Othello, if, before he married Desdemona, he had first married a Black woman. The play is told through the eyes of Billie, Othello?s first wife, whom he has just left for Mona, a white colleague. It is a blues tragedy set simultaneously in 1860 (before the Emancipation Proclamation), in 1928 during the Harlem Renaissance, and on the corner of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X Boulevards in contemporary Harlem.
There are no performances November 27 or 28.
Final performance: December 7, 2024
