About This Show

Fresh off the success of his spring production Buster Keaton: Fade to Black, Lenny Schwartz is preparing to take another new play to New York City this June. Fidelity is Schwartz’s newest play and will go up in New York City’s Off-Off Broadway as part of the Planet Connections Festivity. His previous production in NYC, “The Six Month Cure” – directed by Norah Turnham, won a nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Play at the Planet Connections Festivity in 2010.

Fidelity is a searing examination of the lives of two couples dealing with the stresses and influences of our current society. Schwartz describes the play as “a dark comedy about a destructive marriage where both partners casually betray each other. Openly deceitful, the pair wage a psychological war against each other using emotions, loss, and love as their weapons.”

Schwartz is not afraid to examine and expose the dark side of human nature. He is known for his intense, edgy plays such as “Squiggy and the Goldfish” and “The Wire Game”. Each is unique, yet carries a thread of the extreme behavior people can be driven to in today’s fractured society. Schwartz has been writing and directing his own stage plays for more than twelve years, most of them produced at the Bell Street Chapel in Providence, Rhode Island by Schwartz’s partner in the Daydream Theatre Company, Jim Belanger. “Fidelity” will be the seventh play of Schwartz’s to play to audiences in NYC.
