Byronic Women, a new theatre company dedicated to exploring female roles presents “Duels for Love: 2 Short Jokes by Anton Chekhov.” “The Bear,” one of Chekhov’s most beloved comedies, features a mourning widow, a sly servant, and a mysterious stranger. “The Proposal,” a hilarious satire on courtship and marriage, contains a couple who can’t stop fighting long enough to get engaged. Presented together, these two short “vaudevilles” turn the battle of the sexes into a duel…..for love.
