About This Show

“Possessed of a killer singing voice and formidable stage presence and will likely be snatched up by the first film director with his head screwed on crooked.” – New York Press

Created, performed and written by CARY CURRAN and co-written with MIKE ALBO, Cary from the Cock is an intoxicating evening-length solo performance combining dance, original songs, monologues and video. ANDI STOVER directs.

Cary defies convention and her Catholic upbringing with a show that proves it’s always better to strip yourself bare (literally), than repress and stay dressed. Sometimes salty, sometimes sad, always sexy, she’ll take you on a warped tour of life from confused Christian teen to downtown queen.

As America’s quintessential, but not-at-all typical fag hag, she’s been thrown out of at least 15 bars, has at least 15,000 gay friends, and will strangle you if you tell her “You can’t dance here.” With raw emotion and honesty “CFTC” presents all the elation and heartbreak that comes with being a different style of woman.

Highlights from the show include: “A Little Fame”, (sung in a be-dazzled hot-dog costume; “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” a modern dance piece based on dancing experience at Christian summer camp. “Fag Hag” an eight minute video documentary; Joseph, the leather daddy; to “Cary from the Cock” a MTV-Beyonce-esque song and dance number with backup dancers, THE HAG FAGS.
