Blessed Margaret of Castello

Blessed Margaret was born a blind, lame dwarf in Italy during the Middle Ages. Her aristocratic parents hid her in a cell for twenty years. When she was finally emancipated ( her parents abandoned her ) Blessed Margaret went on to lead a life of service to others, bringing meals and medicine to hospitals and prisons with love and cheerfulness. She could foresee the future and perform miracles. After her death at 33 years old, she was beatified by Pope Paul V. This true two act play with music has an inspiring theme — no matter what a person’s disabilities, this does not diminish his or her ability to love and do good.
