Apocalypse!: Book One
What do Pat Robertson, Reverend Sun Moon, and etc… all have in common? They all believe the end of the world is nigh. Unlike other religious extremists, however, etc… has turned its apocalyptic vision into a comedic revelation. After sellout crowds at the New York International Fringe Festival etc… (experimental troupe comedy) presents encore performances of Apocalypse!: Book One, updated especially for the election.
America is being swamped with the news of the forthcoming elections. The media is obsessed with reporting everything, except the issues that are important. Apocalypse! Book One takes on the media circus by smacking the audience upside the head with a new take on the election when Jesus Christ, an unassuming industrial carpenter from a key swing state, announces his candidacy for president and takes on Dubya.
Meanwhile, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Death, War, Pestilence, and Famine – struggle to get together and fulfill their duties as harbingers of the End. War is busy juggling his family problems and conflicts across the globe, Famine is busy binging and purging at McDonalds across the Midwest, while Pestilence struggles as a hard working single mother trying to define herself separate from her fellow horsemen. Can Death get his musical off the ground and pull the gang together for one last dance?
