Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, adapted by Lake Simons and John Dyer, incorporates all characters as puppets in a range of bunraku, shadow, and handheld styles. The puppeteers function as a chorus of physical storytellers, weaving in and out of sets with colorful movable surfaces that include a Punch & Judy-style stage for the Duchess’s abode; screens reminiscent of comic book thought bubbles; and for the Mad Tea Party–an undulating, patch-work table where the Mad Hatter and March Hare torment the hapless Dormouse.
