About This Show

What would we find if we went inside Joan of Arc’s mind? Who was she, and what did she feel, think, worry or dream about? A Girl Joan is a solo play based on the imagined heart-life of the girl warrior, the girl mystic, the girl delusion-ary and the girl saint. Written and performed by Erica Berg with music by Katie Down, the piece travels Joan’s tales through her own voice; beginning when she runs away at 17 to her first encounter with the vision Michael, to meeting the Dauphin to waging battles to her capture, her trial and ultimate conviction. Joan’s youth, strength, unimaginable bravery, innocence and fragility color her stories, bringing us into the world of this bewildering and awe-inspiring 15th century girl.

Appropriate for audiences 12 and up.
