Stadttheater New York is a month-long German theater experience consisting of two mainstage productions, four staged readings, and three panel discussions. Stadttheater New York showcases the work of German playwrights Ingrid Lausund and Roland Schimmelpfennig. Lausund’s Slipped Disc – A Study of the Upright Walk and Schimmelpfennig’s The Woman Before are the mainstage productions.
German state theaters feature numerous plays in rotating repertory with new productions each season, a permanent ensemble of actors, multiple performance spaces and a rich offering of lectures, workshops and discussions, all federally subsidized.
