Spring Storm is a classic Southern tale of adolescent rites of passage, with characters and themes that later made Tennessee Williams famous. Set in Depression era, small-town Mississippi, Spring Storm traces the romantic struggles of four characters against the backdrop of turbulent weather, rising waters and town gossip. The story focuses on Heavenly Critchfield, a tempestuous southern beauty, and the two boys she loves: Dick Miles, the rough-speaking, tough-living river rat who has the urge to follow the Mississippi, and Arthur Shannon, the well-bred, rich boy who has just returned to his small hometown from studies in England and is preferred by Heavenly’s social-climbing mother. Directed by Coy Middlebrook.
