To many, WHIQ may only be a tiny public television station in the swamps of New Jersey. But it’s Bob Mason’s life’s dream. And now his dream is on the line-he has to come up with one million dollars immediately or the station will go off the air. Aided by his assistant, Suzi, a would-be singer, Bob tries to put on a marathon weekend of the best of PBS, including a concert with Luciano Pavarotti, Snoop Dogg and Eminem called “The Three Rappers,” a cooking show called “The Incarcerated Gourmet,” and much more. But unknown to him, international media mogul Ted Engulf wants the station for his movie star wife and will go to any lengths to get it – including burning down the warehouse with WHIQ’s programming. What remains is a crate of the world’s worst sitcom, “That Darn Ed.” Two separate casts portray the station personnel and the television programs in this crazy quilt of a play.
