About This Show

The York Theatre Company presents Mirette as part of its ‘Musicals in Mufti’ series — the York’s acclaimed series of musical theatre gems in staged concert performances. ‘Mufti’ (pronounced MUFF’ tee) means “in street clothes; without the usual trappings.”

New York Premiere! A perfect family musical for the holidays about the unusual friendship between the strong-willed, ten year-old Mirette and The Great Bellini, a jaded tightrope walker who’s lost his nerve. When Bellini stages a comeback only to find himself paralyzed with fear, Mirette helps him regain his courage. Elizabeth Diggs masterfully adapts the Caldecott Award-Winning book with music and lyrics by Tom Jones & Harvey Schmidt, the celebrated creators of The Fantasticks and 110 in the Shade. The cast includes Robert Cuccioli, Ed Dixon, Davis Duffiled, Patti Murin, Anthony Santelmo, Kelly Sullivan, and Maggie Watts.
