About This Show

The Motyl Chamber Ensemble is made up of some of New York’s most dynamic young artists and presents music written by composers who were victims of the Holocaust. Winners of the Artists International Competition, the Motyl Ensemble performs the music of Hans Krása, Pavel Haas, Gideon Klein, Viktor Ullmann and other composers from the concentration camps. The ensemble is dedicated to remembering these great composers through the performance of their work. This project is made possible in part by the Fund for Creative Communities/NYSCA and the Manhattan Community Arts Fund/New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
