Miss Richfield 1981: Uncorked!

About the Show

Drag legend Miss Richfield 1981 will make her long-awaited, highly-anticipated return to New York City with the debut of Miss Richfield 1981: Uncorked! Written and directed by Russ King, this one night only performance includes a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Popping her cork and dropping a ball — or more likely two — Miss Richfield rings in the New Year in The Big Apple! The Midwestern maven greets big city folks with a salute to our new future first lady, a razor-sharp musical tribute on the saw, and just enough Jesus to ensure that you follow through on your resolutions. And as her trademark, Miss R will weave the evening together with repartee directed at needy audience members. She’s been called “deliciously underhanded,” by Ptown Magazine, “Twisted, demented and campy,” by Edge NYC, and “Drag done on the sunny side!” by the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Don’t miss this one-night engagement!

With a unique combination of Midwestern sensibilities and off-the-page humor, Miss Richfield 1981 has quickly become one of America’s most beloved drag stars. Her rich history begins with a life-long goal of being crowned beauty queen of her first-ring suburb of Minneapolis (hometown of her creator, Russ King). Since winning the title of Miss Richfield in 1981, she has continued to promote the values and principles of Richfield, Minnesota, “where butter is a spice and gravy is a beverage.” As well as performing sell-out performances throughout the country, Miss R has earned a reputation as one of the most successful acts in Provincetown (along with Varla Jean Merman and Dina Martina). Miss R also headlines for Atlantis Events cruises and resort vacations, the largest LGBT vacation company. She has appeared on numerous TV shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Today on NBC. Miss R invites you to join her online at MissRichfield.com, where she keeps a calendar of events and shares words of wisdom, such as her favorite Bible verse: “It’s important to be nice, but it’s nicer to be important.”
