About This Show

Montserrat Music presents multi award winning jazz vocalist Judy Barnett: In Concert at The Triad Theatre with an all star quintet. Ms. Barnett will be singing a gamut of material, ranging from chestnut standards to more contemporary tunes, including some songs she is currently recording for a new CD to be released in the Spring of 2005, titled, “It Might As Well Be…Swing!” The gigs are in concert format, with a short intermission between two very tasty hours of some of the hottest swing jazz you’ll ever hear.

With Judy Barnett is the sensational Jerry Weldon on sax, fresh from his stint with Harry Connick, Jr. and trumpeter Bud Burridge, who often plays with Judy & is also the arranger of the big band tunes on her recordings. In addition, the rhythm section features Ted Kooshian on piano, with whom Judy performs & writes, as well as Tom Hubbard on bass & Warren Odze on drums. These evenings are designed to present the band in an alternative space to the more typical club environment–in a theatrical setting, in concert. Judy is looking forward to performing in her home town. Over the last few years she has not been working in NYC as often as she used to & she is excited about both the quintet & the concert format. Join Judy & the band on one of these special nights.
