Gypsy of the Year Competition

TWO PERFORMANCES ONLY!

Through the years, the Gypsy of the Year Competition has become one of the hottest and most anticipated tickets of the fall season. New York’s most talented “gypsies,” chorus members from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, join in a competition/variety show as six weeks of intensive fundraising by the community come to a close. The all-singing, all-dancing, all-dishing extravaganza is easily the biggest party in town. Expected performers include members of Beauty and the Beast, A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Rent, Tarzan, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wedding Singer, Wicked, and more.

The Gypsy of the Year Competition benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fund raising and grant making organization. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the theatrical community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since it’s founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $100 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV, or HIV-related illnesses.
