John Patitucci is one of the jazz world’s most prolific and well-known bass players and composers. He has enjoyed a wide background of work, from performing with Sting, Wynton Marsalis, B.B. King and Bonnie Raitt to Joshua Redman, Natalie Cole and Herbie Hancock. His prolific soundtrack work with John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, and Henry Mancini and other recordings have garnered him two Grammy® Awards and eight Grammy® nominations plus a number one slot on the Billboard Jazz Chart. From heartfelt spirituals to inventive jazz, from American folk music to rhythmic Brazilian jazz samba, John provides an eclectic mix of musical exploration. He will be joined by popular jazz pianist, Jon Cowherd and Brazilian percussionist, Rogerio Boccato. Jon has performed with the Brian Blade Fellowship, Vanessa Rubin, Carla Cook, Claudia Acuna and the Village Vanguard Orchestra. Rogerio performs with Kenny Garrett, Toninho Horta, Dori Caymmi and Ben Allison. Songs and Spirituals will be presented by Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
