New York City
The magical tale of Peer Gynt is Norway’s folk Odysseus and the basis for the famous Henrik Ibsen play and Edvard Grieg’s superb incidental music. In this concert adaptation, the story will be narrated in English by Toralv Maurstad and sung in Norwegian as costumed soloists, dancers and a hardanger fiddle player from the Norwegian National Opera take leading roles. Philip Brunelle conducts the 120-voice VocalEssence Chorus with full orchestra.
