Teatro del Pueblo in collaboration with The State of Iberoamerican Studies Series at The University of Minnesota and The College of St. Benedict /St. John’s University presents “La Razón Blindada” by Teatro Malayerba from Quito, Ecuador. Award-winning Actor/Director/Writer, Arístides Vargas founded Teatro Malayerba in 1979 with immigrant artists’ Susanna Pautasso and Charro Frances. Born in Argentina in 1954 Vargas was forced into exile after Argentina’s bloody dictatorship in the 1970s and 80s. “La Razón Blindada” uses this time period as a backdrop for their witty and sublime display of Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quijote de la Mancha. This performance is presented in Spanish with English open captioning.
