About This Show

Players Guild of Dearborn proudly presents the Pulitzer Prize winning musical comedy How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Music and lyrics are by Frank Loesser, with book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.
Ray Alcodray directs.

J. Pierpont Finch, a young but bright window-cleaner buys a book – How To Succeed In Business — and following its advice joins the multi-national, but poorly-connected, World-Wide Wicket Company. Starting in the mailroom he quickly advances to Vice-President-In-Charge-Of-Advertising, using sneaky and dubious ways to assure the person above him gets either fired or reassigned while simultaneously falling in love with secretary Rosemary Pilkington. Meanwhile, the president of the WWWC, J.B. Biggley, tries to have an affair with drop-dead gorgeous bubblehead Hedy LaRue, but she becomes a weapon used both by Finch and Bud Frump), Biggley’s brattish and annoying nephew. Can Finch rise to the top or will it all go down in flames?

Guaranteed to appeal to anyone who has ever worked in an office. The show boasts a catchy and brassy score, with a wicked sense of humor that’s as biting and unforgiving today as originally produced in 1961. Familiar songs include: "Coffee Break", "It’s Been a Long Day", "A Secretary is Not a Toy", and "Brotherhood of Man."
