New York City
The Emerging Stages program at Stoneham Theatre presents Thrill Me, with book, music, and lyrics by Stephen Dolginoff. The musical
was first staged during the Fourth Annual Midtown Theatre Festival in New York, and is a chilling retelling of the infamous story of Leopold and Loeb. Set in Chicago, 1924, it chronicles the events that lead Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb to commit an unthinkable crime – the murder of a young boy. Dolginoff’s dark score propels the action and underscores the tension at the center of the story. Caitlin Lowans directs.
Stephen Dolginoff, called a “major talent” by Matthew Murray of Talkin’ Broadway, has also written the musicals Most Men Are, One Foot Out the Door, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Peter Filichia of TheaterMania includes Thrill Me among the Fifty Best Scores of All Time for Off-Broadway Musicals and Matthew Murray says of Thrill Me: “Dolginoff has come up with one of the tautest, most exhaustive musical character studies ever… It is positively unforgettable and absolutely not to be missed.”
